Jamie Wilson, Producer, Jamie Wilson Productions<\/h2>\n\n

Established in 2008, Jamie Wilson Productions (JWP) is one of the leading independent theatre production companies in the UK. JWP has produced or co-produced over 90 productions in London, on Broadway, and on tour throughout the UK and internationally. The Stage 100 recognised Jamie as one of the top 20 most influential figures in the theatre industry, and in 2023, JWP was nominated for Producer of the Year at The Stage Awards.<\/p>\n\n

In this interview, Jamie candidly discusses his early love of performance, his childhood dreams of appearing in musical theatre, and how being rejected from drama school set him on a trajectory that ultimately led to international success. Without theatre credits on his CV and coming from a working-class background, breaking into theatre production was no easy task. Jamie decided to be creative and not just apply for jobs but instead to write to established producers and ask for advice. It provided him with opportunities to learn and secure employment. Fast forward to Mother's Day dinner in 2015, and a chance statement by his brother led Jamie to secure the rights to Sister Act - one of his most successful productions. He gives us an insight into the inspiration for many of his productions, including the story of Live Aid, Just One Day, and The Devil Wears Prada. Travelling from small theatres, to international venues, Jamie's passion for live theatre shines as he shares the backstage business that has driven his success.<\/p>\n\n

Recent West End productions include The Last Laugh (No\u00ebl Coward Theatre), Just for One Day (Toronto), Calamity Jane (UK Tour), The Devil Wears Prada, (Dominion Theatre), Just for One Day, (Old Vic), Two Strangers (Criterion Theatre), Mrs Doubtfire (Shaftesbury Theatre), Ain\u2019t Too Proud (Prince Edward Theatre), Sister Act (Eventim Apollo and Dominion Theatre), South Pacific (Sadler\u2019s Wells) and My Fair Lady (London Coliseum), JWP has a 10-year agreement with the Shaftesbury Theatre and sees Jamie take the role of lead Producer and principal programmer for the venue.<\/p>\n\n

Recent UK & Ireland touring productions include Sister Act, An Officer and a Gentleman, South Pacific , and My Fair Lady. International productions include Sister Act (Australia, Germany, Netherlands), Mrs Doubtfire (USA Tour), and The Notebook (Broadway).<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
